Sharambeyan sought to keep alive the rituals, images, and memories associated with bread, regarding them as an important part of the people’s way of life and spiritual culture. While working on the design of the “Haghartsin” bread house, he found an important source of inspiration in The Song of Bread, a poem by Western Armenian poet Daniel Varoujan. Sharambeyan’s sketches often feature various household objects connected with bread-making, through which he sought to preserve the memory of traditional life and breathe new life into that culture
