Sketch for the Restoration of Dilijan’s Old Quarter
One of Sharambeyan’s important initiatives was the idea of transforming one of Dilijan’s old streets, popularly known as “Kyarami Prospekt,” into a museum street. The project aimed to preserve and revitalize the architectural character of old Dilijan by restoring carved doors, balconies, and other distinctive elements.
The plan also envisaged pottery and carpet-weaving workshops, blacksmiths’ workshops, a wine house, as well as exhibitions and sales, competitions, and festive events, turning the street into a lively cultural and craft center.
The project was launched on Sharambeyan’s initiative in 1980, and construction gained significant momentum in 1982. Today, the street bears the name of Hovhannes Sharambeyan
